- Treasurer’s Report:
- No expenditures reported (attached in meeting minutes).
- President’s Report (Tyler Leaf):
- Vice President and Chief Steward positions vacated due to promotions.
- Election nominations open for Executive Board and officer positions.
New Business:
- Negotiations:
- Must open negotiations by the end of March.
- Allowed to negotiate wages (Article 19.1) and one non-economic item.
- County projecting a $100M property tax revenue loss, limiting available funds.
- Suggestion made to request increased longevity rates instead of wage increases.
- Members encouraged to email the E-Board with input on the second article to negotiate.
- Behavioral Health Unionization:
- BERNCO Behavioral Health is unionizing.
- Discussions ongoing regarding whether they will fall under the White Collar contract or be absorbed into one contract.
- MDC Classification Workers:
- Classification employees are in the process of joining White Collar.
- Correction Technician Career Step:
- Efforts underway to create a “Lead” Correction Technician position.
- Role to include pre-release paperwork checks and training new hires.
- Website & Discord:
- Local’s new website: https://afscme2260.org.
- Members encouraged to register for full access.
- Plans to create a Discord server for improved communication.
- New Drug Policy:
- County implementing a more lenient marijuana policy.
- Awaiting approval of Admin Instruction HR12 to determine its full impact.
- Union may negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) if necessary.
Good & Welfare Announcements:
- Several members achieved academic milestones and personal life updates, including:
- Taylor Cruz – Earned Master’s in Nursing, now a NICU nurse.
- Brittany Gulin – Earned Master’s in Clinical Psychiatry.
- Tyler Leaf – Earned Master’s in Management (Emergency Management).
- Isidoro Vigil – Expecting second child (baby girl) next month.
- Frankie Lucero – Recently had her second baby girl.
- Desiree Root – Gave birth to twin girls!

- Steward Training scheduled for March 14-15 at Union Hall. Sign up on the council website.
- Seniority Concerns: Suggestion made to include grandfather clauses for contract changes affecting seniority.
